Mariko graduated from The Utah College of Massage Therapy & received her massage therapy license in 2007. Shortly after she created BodyWorks and has specialized in chronic pain, injury & trauma ever since. She has taken several continuing education courses throughout her career including receiving her certification in Structural Integration/Alignment Therapy. She has been happily married since 2002 with a son and two dogs. She loves hiking, camping and just sgetting outdoors.

Mariko is passionate about getting bound tissue to release (Seriously, it's pretty awesome when you feel tissue that's been holding on to dear life, just relax & let go!), teaching her clients how to change bad postural habits & helping her clients understand what their role in their dysfunction/pain is. Two of her many philosophies are a lot of people think they aren't in control of their body & pain is simply your body communicating with you. She loves helping her clients bridge the mind/body gap & helping them solve the puzzle of why their body is talking to them & what it's saying!
